Please arrive 10 minutes before your chosen lesson is due to start

Please ensure you allow at least 10 minutes between sessions to allow enough time to arrive at your next talk/activity.

How tickets work

Choose your three or four lessons depending on your selected ticket type, then select your chosen book. You can purchase additional lessons during the booking process or at a later date which will automatically be added to your ticket if you use the same email address. There is also free content available onsite including pop up podcasts, workshops, the Living Library, a shopping village and much more. Additional paid for workshops will be available at a later date.

NB: You cannot purchase a single additional workshop without purchasing a full price ticket. Additional workshops are only for individuals who have purchased a full price ticket. You will not be permitted entry to the event or talk with a single additional workshop pass without a full price ticket.

How do e-tickets work?
You will receive a confirmation email with your booking immediately after purchase. Your tickets will be sent to via email for you to print at home in the two weeks prior to the event taking place. Please print out all the pages of the e-ticket and bring them with you to gain entry to the event.

Alternatively, you may present your e-ticket on your mobile device (please download it to your device in advance as mobile connectivity strength differs in some venues). Please also bring the credit or debit card you used to make your booking. Each ticket is only valid for admission once and should not be duplicated. Keep your e-tickets in a safe place and with you until the end of each lesson.

Tickets will not be refunded unless Life Lessons is cancelled.

Life Lessons is wheelchair accessible, for more information on accessibility at The Barbican Centre, please visit here.

All disabled visitors attending Life Lessons on a paid for ticket are entitled to bring one carer free of charge.

To apply for a carer ticket, please email with your order reference number and proof of disability, i.e. that you are in receipt of the middle or higher rate care component of the disability living allowance (DLA) or personal independence payment (PIP). Once agreed a free carer's ticket will be added to your order and will be sent to you along with your other tickets.

We'd love to hear from you! We have lots of interesting volunteer opportunities available over the weekend, so please get in touch with us to find out more.

No member of the audience will be permitted to sit in any gangway which intersects or flanks the seating.
