At the inaugural Life Lessons weekend, our mission is simple. We’re going to find the answers to life, the universe and everything.

We are within walking distance from a number of London Underground stations, the closest being Barbican, St Paul’s and Moorgate.
Barbican: 4 min walk; Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan, Circle lines
Moorgate: 7 min walk; Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan, Circle lines
St Paul's: 11 min walk; Central line
The nearest tube station served by the Night Tube (Friday and Saturday) is St Paul's on the Central line.

Old Street and Moorgate are also served by Great Northern and Thameslink trains and are within walking distance of the Barbican.

Bus Route 153 runs directly past the Barbican along Chiswell Street. Alight at 'Silk Street'.
The Barbican is also close to Bus Route 4 and 56 which serve Barbican tube station.
We are easily accessible by bus from around the city; plan your journey and see live bus times on the TfL Interactive Bus Map.
You can walk to the Barbican within 30 minutes from all over central London, giving you the chance to explore the city on on your way.

Until autumn 2019, Moorfields Highwalks will be closed for public access. Find out about alternative routes.
Cycle racks are available at the entrance to Car Park 5 and exit to Car Park 3, which are accessible from inside the Beech Street tunnel. There are also additional bike racks on Silk Street and Golden Lane.
There are TfL Cycle Hire Docking Stations located on Silk Street and Beech Street. You can find the nearest docking station and bike availability on Citymapper.
Helmets and equipment can be left in our free cloakrooms, located on Level -1.

Timetable is correct at time of publishing, and is subject to change. Additional speakers may be added at a later date – ticket holders will be given priority access to purchase additional passes for new speakers.
Please arrive 10 minutes before your chosen lesson is due to start
Please ensure you allow at least 10 minutes between sessions to allow enough time to arrive at your next talk/activity.
How tickets work
Choose your three or four lessons depending on your selected ticket type, then select your chosen book. You can purchase additional lessons during the booking process or at a later date which will automatically be added to your ticket if you use the same email address. There is also free content available onsite including pop up podcasts, workshops, the Living Library, a shopping village and much more. Additional paid for workshops will be available at a later date.
NB: You cannot purchase a single additional workshop without purchasing a full price ticket. Additional workshops are only for individuals who have purchased a full price ticket. You will not be permitted entry to the event or talk with a single additional workshop pass without a full price ticket.
How do e-tickets work?
You will receive a confirmation email with your booking immediately after purchase. Your tickets will be sent to via email for you to print at home in the week prior to the event taking place. Please print out all the pages of the e-ticket and bring them with you to gain entry to the event.
Alternatively, you may present your e-ticket on your mobile device (please download it to your device in advance as mobile connectivity strength differs in some venues). Please also bring the credit or debit card you used to make your booking. Each ticket is only valid for admission once and should not be duplicated. Keep your e-tickets in a safe place and with you until the end of each lesson.
Tickets will not be refunded unless Life Lessons is cancelled.

All disabled visitors attending Life Lessons on a paid for ticket are entitled to bring one carer free of charge.
To apply for a carer ticket, please email email@example.com with your order reference number and proof of disability, i.e. that you are in receipt of the middle or higher rate care component of the disability living allowance (DLA) or personal independence payment (PIP). Once agreed a free carer's ticket will be added to your order and will be sent to you along with your other tickets.
Tickets must not be sold or offered for sale from within the Barbican premises except from the Box Office by our Life Lessons ticketing team. Only tickets purchased from the Life Lessons website or onsite Life Lessons Box Office ticketing team are valid.
Tickets sold via unauthorised third parties, including online auction sites and 'fan to fan' resale sites are not valid for entry.
Reselling a ticket for profit or commercial gain makes it void and the ticketholder will be refused entry.
Any attempts to manipulate or damage our systems may be unlawful and could result in legal action being taken.
Failure to adhere to our Terms and Conditions of sale may result in tickets not being valid for entry.
If you arrive late for the start of a talk, we appreciate that you will want to take your seat as soon as possible. We will do everything possible to assist. To limit disturbance to fellow audience members and speakers we may have to ask you to wait until a suitable break in the talk. Occasionally this may not be possible once the talk has started.
Our staff are here to enhance your experience and to ensure your safety at all times. Please follow any guidance they give in relation to your and others comfort and safety.
No member of the audience will be permitted to sit in any gangway which intersects or flanks the seating.
Readmission cannot be guaranteed. On occasion we may have to show you to alternative seats.
The taking of photographs, capturing of images or the use of any recording devices including mobile phones during any performance is strictly prohibited.
The Barbican or any permitted third parties may carry out general filming and sound recording in or about the venue. By purchasing tickets you consent to you and your party being included in and to the exploitation of such films and recordings without payment.
The Management of the Barbican reserves the right to:
- refuse admission to the premises and any Barbican venue
- request any ticket holder to leave the venue, and take appropriate action to enforce this right
- change the advertised arrangements of any performance in the event of illness or any cause beyond our control"
Due to the adult nature of some of our lessons, no one under the age 14 is permitted to attend this event. Children aged between 14 and 16 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 years.
